Postdoctoral Appointees - Job Opportunities
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, invites applications for a full-time, Academic Year, tenure-track position, beginning September 2011.
Teaching assignments will primarily be in General Chemistry for Majors and Non-majors, as well as occasional assignments in advanced courses.
The successful candidate will be expected to play a central role in coordination and pedagogy development for our extensive General Chemistry offerings.

Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Appointment is anticipated at the Assistant Professor level, but appointment at an advanced level may be possible, for a highly experienced candidate.
A Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry or related discipline is required, at the time of hiring.
The successful candidate must be committed to quality Undergraduate Education and will be expected to develop and maintain an active professional development program involving Undergraduates. Experience in teaching laboratory or lecture courses in Undergraduate Chemistry is desired.
Area of research specialization is open.
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers B.S. Degrees in both Chemistry and Biochemistry. The Department also serves many Technical Programs in the University. Students may choose concentrations in Polymers and Coatings, Molecular Biology or a focused Master's Program in Polymers and Coatings Science. The Department is committed to providing each student with a capstone experience through a faculty-facilitated senior project.
