The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a Staff Chemical Scientist whose principal role would be to perform research and development activities related to electrochemistry and electrolysis of chemicals. To develop advanced methods of producing carbon based chemicals by electrochemical and electrocatalytic methods. Develops other advanced synthetic methods to prepare chemicals of energy importance. Independently sets up and performs a variety of unique laboratory research studies to prove new principles and concepts. Collects, assimilates, and interprets laboratory data. Is responsible for planning research tasks and assessing and applying a wide range of research techniques to those synthetic tasks. Serves as a technical resource to others and is frequently responsible for mentoring and/or oversight of junior level scientist. Serves as a major or sole contributor to the generation of reports, publications, and proposals. Contributes to the generation of proposals and concepts submitted for external funding. Represent the Interfacial Chemistry department to sponsors and peers through programmatic and technical presentations. Provides input to departmental business plans.
Qualifications
Applicable bachelor degree plus 7 years of relevant experience or Master Degree plus 5 years of experience or Doctorate Degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
