Multiple Faculty Positions -- Energy-Related Separations Research
University of Notre Dame

As a part of a campus-wide sustainable Energy initiative, the Notre Dame Energy Center at the University of Notre Dame (http://energycenter.nd.edu) invites applications for multiple open-rank positions, including Endowed Chairs, in Energy-related Separations Research.

Areas of interest broadly include the theoretical and experimental development of novel materials and/or approaches for separations using absorption, adsorption, membranes and biological or hybrid systems.

Energy-related applications may include air separation, less energy intensive groundwater remediation and waste water treatment methods, water desalination, recovery of dilute organics from aqueous solutions and actinide/nuclear separations, among many others.

Notre Dame’s Energy Initiative encompasses the Colleges of Science and Engineering, builds on existing strengths in Materials for more sustainable Nuclear, Fossil and Solar Energy and represents a new phase in the University’s research growth, with strategic investment in people and infrastructure.

Successful candidates will bring strong programs in Engineering or Chemical Sciences, will embrace collaborations within and across disciplines and will incorporate excellence, in both undergraduate and graduate education.

Senior applicants should have a record of national and international distinction.

Primary and joint appointments are envisioned in the Departments of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Civil Engineering and Geological Sciences, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Applicants should submit curriculum vitae, lists of publications, detailed research plans and statements of teaching interests.

Junior candidates must also arrange for at least three letters of recommendation, while senior applicants may apply in confidence.

Applications will be reviewed beginning November 1st and on a continuing basis, until the positions are filled.

All materials should be e-mailed to:
