National School on Neutron and X-ray Scattering

The school will be held at Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, IL and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN. The school will take place between September 24 - October 11, 2008. Students will be housed and transportation will be provided
from lodging to the school. Lodging accommodations will be available starting
September 24 through October 10. Lectures and hands-on experiments will be held
during normal working hours, but some experiments will be conducted during evening
sessions.
Social events will be arranged for participants.
Enrollment
Graduate students attending U.S. universities majoring in physics, chemistry, materials science, or related fields.
To the accepted graduate students, the School will provide air
transportation (in an amount not to exceed $500.00) from their home
institution or their current address. The Argonne Division of
Educational Programs will arrange for air travel so that
students arrive at the Laboratory on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 and depart
on Saturday, October 11, 2008. Students who travel to Argonne via private
automobile will be reimbursed in accordance with Argonne policy. Travel
reimbursement will be made only for individuals who reside outside a
50-mile radius of Argonne. The School will also provide housing at Argonne and Oak Ridge for all School participants, as well as round-trip transportation to Oak Ridge National Laboratory from Argonne National Laboratory.
