NUMERICAL DETERMINATION OF THE BOUND STATE OF SIMPLE QUANTUM POTENTIALS

Abstract

We develop numerical codes for the solution of the Schrodinger wave equation in the so-called imaginary time propagation mode to determination of bound states for various quantum potentials, including infinite potential well, and quantum harmonic oscillator. The time propagation in carried out through the split-step Fourier methods of first, second and fourth order for time splitting operator and error properties of these methods is studied.
