Summary of Research:
Data analysis, especially visual, can efficiently extract knowledge from scientific data. As computational science produces larger, more complex datasets, the task of converting these data into useful, human-centric information consumes an ever-increasing portion of scientists’ work. Two problems emerge for the scientist: managing the scale of the visualization process and interacting with the process in order to extract maximum information content. I am researching solutions to both of these problems as scientific computations grow to petascale proportions.
