The DOE Argonne/CNH Regional Academic Competition - Feb. 18, 2012 APS Conference Center
11 teams competed in this fast-paced Jeopardy-style competition where students answer either
multiple-choice or short-answer questions relating to science and math facts or concepts.
Out of 20 double-elimination matches, 9 matches were won by 14 points of less (the difference of one question set). Room
A1100 was packed through the final rounds—a number of schools stayed to the end of the tournament, Round 10.
Three Outstanding Coaching Awards were given to the following coaches:
- Kathleen Cochrane, Frank Whitely Middle School
- Lynn Jankowski, Oak Prairie Middle School
- Cheryl Nwankwo, Quad County Urban League

Daniel Wright will represent the Argonne/CNH regional at
the National Science Bowl Competition in Washington D.C., April 26 to April 30, 2012,
where the team will compete with 42 middle school regional team winners in both the academic and car competitions, and participate in a plethora of exciting events. |
